Murali Vijay powers Chennai to IPL final
Thanks to a swashbuckling 113 from Murali Vijay, Chennai Super Kings beat Delhi Daredevils by 86 runs to book their berth in the finals of the fifth IPL. Chennai showed what they have in store for IPL by reaching the finals for the third consecutive time.
Chasing a mammoth 223, Delhi Daredevils succumbed to 136 in 16.5 overs in the second qualifying match, played at Chennai on Friday.
The Chennai opener set the tone for the day hitting 15 fours and 4 sixes before David Warner and Naman Ojha terminate his innings in the last ball of the match. By the time, the damage is done for Daredevils.
Murali Vijay and Dwayne Bravo plundered 39 runs in the last 17 balls as Bravo hammered unbeaten 33 off 12 balls with couple of sixes and 3 fours.
Mahela Jayawardane scored a courageous 55 but his contribution was far from what is required to beat Super Kings. Jayawardane faced 38 balls and hit 4 fours and 21 sixes before Ashwin removed the DD opener. source-http://sports.dailymirror.lk
