The Colombo Magistrates court issued an open warrant today to arrest on sight a resident of Rajagiriya for maintaining an environment conducive for breeding dengue mosquitoes.
Although the culprit was asked to appear in court he has been evading courts continuously.
The police and the Public Health Inspectors gave evidence regarding this matter which prompted the magistrate’s decison to issue a warrant.
Colombo Additional Magistrate Tikiri K Jayathilaka issuing the warrant stated that arresting the culprit would be a deterrent to other offenders.
Meanwhile, the Marawila Additional Magistrate ordered 10 individuals who bred dengue mosquitoes in their surroundings to pay a sum of 100,000 rupees each.
The 10 persons include 9 residents and a lodge owner.
The Wennappuwa Public Health Inspector stated that they arrested these persons during door to door inspections being carried out island wide source-.http://hirunews.lk
