Disney sues shop in Colombo for selling counterfeit soft toys
U.S. Giant Disney has filed a legal case against a store operating in Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo for selling counterfeit soft toys of the company’s most famous creations, a media report said.
According to the Xinhua news agency, the case has been filed by the company following the Colombo Crimes Division raided a popular shopping mall selling large numbers of counterfeit soft toys patented by Disney.
The news report says, Disney has accused the shopping mall of infringing on its intellectual property rights, and the infringement has caused irreparable damage and loss to Disney.
Disney is an American based multinational firm engaged in diversified media business.
